Agarwood Pu-erh Tea

Both of our agarwood and Pu-erh tea are grown in a private, chemical free, natural environment in Xishuangbanna region of Yunnan Province in southern China. Two senior partners of Huaxia Holding company are residents of this area. They ensure that the quality of Agarwood Pu-erh Tea is maintained to the highest standard.

The climate and sunshine are suitable for growing top quality healthy tea leaves. Our tea leaves are harvested just prior to April 1st each year. Although quantity is limited, the selected tea leaves are the most delicate. The procees of making Pu-erh tea is labor intensive with tender loving care. This fermented tea is then stored in a controlled environment for aging process to add an earthy flavor.

High demand on products made with agarwood is depleting this natural resource. Since 1995, it has been listed by CITES as Potentionally Threatened Species. We grow agarwood in our private field to produce a limited quantity to mix with Pu-erh tea. Unlike other practices, we do not infect agarwood with fungus, bacteria, or parasite to retrieve the fragrant oil. We use branch chips out of yearly pruming process.

The rarity of both agarwood and Pu-erh Tea is reflected in the price of our tea. To estimate the averaged number of cups these tea leaves can make, divide the prices by $2. The actual number of cups depends upon the personal preference on tea concentration.

The health benefits of agarwood and Pu-erh Tea have been presented in many articles. Search non-commercial websites for neutral opinions.

There are many excellent books about tea. The most famous book is "The Classic of Tea", by Lu Yu and was translated into English by Francis Ross Carpenter. "The Way of Tea", by Aaron Fisher, draws upon the wisdom of ancient writings to explain how modern tea lovers can bring peace and serenity to their time with a steaming cup of tea-and how to carry that serenity with them throughout the day.

We have done our best to produce top quality Agarwood Pu-erh Tea. Your job is to acquire a good set of tea pot and cups as shown below. Follow the instruction given below to make authentic tea. Lu Yu preferred to use water from mountain streams. It is not easy to obtain stream water from the mountains these days (unless you live near one of our senior partners of Huaxia Holding Company in Xishuangbanna, he owns a crystal clear lake collecting water from mountain streams), make sure to boil tap water prior to steeping. Then you settle down and enjoy Agarwood Pu-erh Tea just like you would enjoy a glass of your favorite fine red wine!!

Tea Pot and Cups

If you are enthusiastic about tea drinking, try to acquare the tools as shown in the picture. These tools are typically made of Pterocarpus indicus, very expensive wood. These tools include vase, shuffle, needle, digger, tongs, funnel, scoop, etc. Notice that teaspoon is not a traditional tool for tea making. It is a measurement unit originated in England. Mr. Lu Yu centainly did not know about teaspoons because he lived in the eighth century!
